4/17:
Summer Practice Schedule is now
posted. |
Hi MAST families,
We will be holding dryland training and video
tape review sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
5:30-7:30 p.m. this
April and May. These are completely voluntary and
any swimmer on the MAST summer team is invited to
attend. We will be doing a
lot of
running, and much of the running will be on hills
and in the parking lot. If you have swimmers that
plan on attending make sure that they have a water
bottle filled and with their name written on it,
appropriate workout clothes and good running shoes.
On days that we have rain we will
not have these sessions due to the
ground conditions outside. I am pretty sure that the
school would not appreciate us walking through their
hallways and in their pool and locker rooms with
muddy shoes and clothing.
Thank you,
Coach Craig

the next few days, enclosed in the envelope is an RSVP
for the MAST SWIM BANQUET. Please return the RSVP as
soon as possible along with the cost per person for the

the sheet at the pool.)
The schedule for the evening is as follows:

7-9 p.m. Awards

2/25:
We will continue to
offer practices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. The pool will be open for swimming only! No
playing around as the lanes may get a little crowded
if most people who asked for this take advantage of
these practices.
I, and the other coaches who choose to participate,
will be on deck to offer practice set suggestions
and for stroke and technique work. However, for the
most part, the swimmers will be on their own to swim
laps and keep up their conditioning.
|
2/22:For
those families that have swimmers attending the
Senior Champs, JO Champs and the Sycamore All
American Meet, as of 6:00 a.m. the Milford Exempted
Schools have been closed which means that practices
for today will be cancelled.
I will check again around 2:15 p.m. If there are any
changes at that time I will send out another email
around 2:30 p.m. I apologize for the continued
cancellations; however we are at the mercy of the
Milford B.O.E.
|
2/21: I
just received a phone message from the Athletic
Director regarding tonight’s
after school activities. He told me that the
Superintendent called him and said that ALL THURSDAY
EVENING ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN
CANCELLED!
So there will be no practices for any group this
evening.
Also, if Milford schools
are called off tomorrow due to weather, there will
be no practices tomorrow either. I will send out an
email tomorrow afternoon if I hear anything
regarding our ability to come in and train.
Saturday we will be in the water, weather
permitting Senior group and JO swimmers from
9:30
–
11:00 a.m. and the Sycamore All American swimmers
will practice from 1:00
–
11:00 a.m. I will let you know if that schedule
changes
Thank you,

1/8: Hi Everyone who purchased
Spritwear!!!!! First, thank you for purchasing
Milford Spiritwear....
Second, I am sorry for any orders that were not
filled correctly..and I am sorry that some of the items
were not delivered on time. Unfortunately, I was at the
mercy of Jamboree. They made some mistakes..because of
the problems I don't think we will use this supplier the
next time. If you have any items that were not delivered
as promised, please call me at 831-5834 or email me @
bdundon@fuse.net and I will rectify the situation.
SPIRITWEAR PANTS...I received the pants from
Jamboree on Saturday..Unfortunately, it just came my
attention that the logo only has the word "MILFORD" and
the word "SWIMMING" was left off.....If you have already
received your pants and would like to return them to me
so they can be done correctly, I will be glad to give
them back to Jamboree. I can make arrangements to pick
them up at the pool or pick them up personally..If you
didn't receive your pants yet..I will be taking them
back to Jamboree so they can be done correctly.
Again, I am sorry for all of the problems. I had
no idea this was going to be so complicated. Thanks for
your understanding.

1/3: Just
for some clarification about the meets on the
weekend of January 18-20, 2008. Originally we had
scheduled the Mariemont meet on the 19th
for only the Red groups and the Kettering meet only
for the Senior and Black groups. However, with the
Mariemont team always attending our meets I have
decided to allow ANY swimmer 14 or younger to
compete in that meet.
The Kettering meet is still available to the
Senior and Black groups only!
If anyone plans
on attending the Mariemont meet I need to know by
Monday so I can get our entries in to them. You can
sign up at the pool, or you may respond to this
email. Just do so as soon as possible.
If anyone is planning on attending the
Kettering meet, you must notify me immediately via
email or by phone (859-409-0220) as they have said
that their meet is filled up. They will hold places
for our swimmers as long as I notify them by Sunday.

The Beach staff for food prep by Tuesday the 18th. I

This Tuesday, December 11,
there will be no
swim practices for any group due to a high school
swim meet which starts at 6:00
p.m. (warm-ups at 5:00 p.m.). If you would like to come
and see a pretty fast dual meet, Coach T and the high
school swimmers would love to have your support. |

pretty smoothly thanks to all of our volunteers. Your
help and spirit was very welcomed. |
|
12/09:
December Invitational results posted on the meet page. |
|
12/04: With the combining
of morning and afternoon sessions for both Saturday
and Sunday, we will not need Junior High and High
School parents to work the meet this weekend. This
applies to parents who have only a Junior High
and/or Senior High swimmer. If you also have a Mast
swimmer competing in the meet, you still have to
work your required 2 sessions.
|
|
12/04: We are asking all families to
donate items for the concession stand for the meet this
weekend. Donations are as follows: *If your
last name begins with A-F, donate a 12 pack (cans) of
Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Diet Mountain Dew
*If your last name begins with G-L, donate
individually wrapped or bagged muffins, brownies or
cookies
*If your last name begins with M-P, donated

party room, plus ice skating rental & admission to the
rink, a horse-drawn carriage ride, pony ride for the
kiddies, and all of the other attractions at the park.
Join the team for a fun evening! |

as regularly scheduled. We are
off on
Thursday (HAPPY THANKSGIVING) and Friday. We will resume
regular practices on Saturday. |
11/20:Thanks
to all the wonderful volunteers who worked the Gold
Star Meet this weekend. Many of you stepped up and
worked extra shifts to help fill in the empty
positions when needed. With a three day meet, we
ended up having more jobs than our 2 per parent
could cover. Now that you new parents are all
seasoned veterans, it will be a lot easier next
meet. Also, if any of the students who worked need
a signature for their community service, I will be
glad to do it. They all did a great job!
Again, Thank you all very very much!!!

9/11: Letter from Coach Andy Storch who is in Iraq.
T-
I've been thinking about the team as you prepare for
a new season often missing the times spent at the pool
with the swimmers. As you might imagine a completely
different environment exists here. Although the Aussies
run a recreational pool there are no lap swimming
opportunities at Camp Victory. Mild weather is on its
way but it is still hot and dusty with the thermometer
reaching about 107 each day. I'm fortunate to spend much
of each day working at Al Faw Palace. (A quick google
seach will provide much more detail than I could
summarize here.) I hope that one day the kids of Iraq
are fortunate enough to enjoy youth sports activities
like MAST. I believe, in some regards, that is the
reason we are here.
Please say 'hi' to the swimmers and their parents for
me. I truly look forward to returning to the team in the
spring.
Attached is photo of me
taken last week on board the C-130 during transport from
Kuwait to Iraq.

proper group placement. For all existing MAST

download the forms and bring them to your first practice
or you can fill out the forms and bring them to
registration. You will not be allowed into the
water until all your forms are filled out and turned in.
You do NOT have to use the online payment method if you
use online pre-registration. Just attach a
check to the forms that you need to turn in. |
