Announcements

1/11: Just a reminder...we will have practice tomorrow from 4:30-6:15. We will also be practicing this Thursday and next Tuesday and Thursday. We will not have practice, however, if we have a snow day on any of those days or if all afternoon activities are cancelled for snow.

12/13: We will be having our team pictures taken this Tuesday in the pool area at the high school at 2:30 p.m. This is prior to the bus leaving for our swim meet versus Princeton Jr. High. I am going to send out an email to Janet Short to see if the bus can pick us up at the high school and I will let you know sometime tomorrow.

The picture packets will be at the pool the day of the pictures. If you plan on buying a picture, please be there and prepared to pay for them at the time of the picture. Entries for the Princeton meet are here.

12/3: The bus is scheduled to pick up the swim team from behind the Jr. High at 3:15 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday, December 3rd). All swimmers must travel to the meet by bus. Parents are welcome to come to the meet on their own to cheer their swimmers on and may take their swimmers home with them as long as the coaches get something in writing prior to or during the swim meet.

11/27: The December calendar is now posted.

11/27:I will hold a Saturday practice this Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 to 2:30 p.m. IF you can make it that would be great seeing as we have our first swim meet on December 3rd versus Sycamore at Sycamore H.S.

All swimmers attending the meet must ride the bus to an from the meet unless other prior arrangements have been made. Riding the bus to the meet is very important so that coaches can tell the swimmers what events they will be swimming and relays can be organized.

11/20: Attached is the order form. I didn’t realize there isn’t practice on Tuesday next week. Since you will not be getting together with the team next week how about you email this out today and ask them to email me @ amybrumleve@bluefrogpromo.com or call me at 519-4736 to place their order no later than MONDAY, November 23, preferably today or over the weekend. I really want to be able to have the items to you by the first meet on 12/3 but with the holidays next week it is going to be a challenge. I will do my best though, so the sooner I can get these last couple of orders, the better.

11/18:One more very important item...

All physicals, information and medical forms and MONEY have to be turned in prior to our first meet on December 3rd! Please get these items in TO ME as soon as you can. Any athlete who has not turned in these items prior to our first meet will not be entered in to our swim meets until these are turned in and the swimmer(s) will not be allowed to continue to practice after December 3rd until they are turned in.

I wanted to let everyone know that we have a few items of importance that needs your immediate attention.

First, The Jr. High team spiritwear forms and money are due today! If you did not get a form, we will have extras at practice this evening. Just make sure you have a check, credit card or cash with you tonight!

Second, Starting Tuesday, November 24th at 3:00 p.m. and running until Friday, November 27th the schools will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. This means there will be no Jr. High swim team practices on that Tuesday and Thursday. However, I am looking at scheduling a practice on Saturday November 28th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Third, I have picture forms for any and all members who wish to have a team picture for a keepsake. Our picture was originally scheduled for November 24th, but since the school is closing on that day I need to find out when this has been rescheduled for. I will let you know as soon as I find out anything.

11/4: Practice's will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Some Saturday practices will be made available in the near future.

Practices will begin Tuesday, November 10th. If you plan on swimming for the team, and you are NOT swimming for a year round program already, all practices are mandatory. If you cannot make the practices, you have no reason to swim for the team. Illness exceptions with a doctor's note will not be counted against you.

The cost to participate for the MJHS swimming team is $100.00 if this is your first sport that you will be competing for. It is $50.00 if you have already played a sport this year, and if this is your third sport you may participate for free.

10/21: Team tryouts will be held November 2nd, 4th and 5th from 4:00 p.m to 5:15 p.m
