Monty joined MAST in 2020.  He brings to our team coaching experience and success at all levels of swimming.

He has over thirty years of college coaching experience including twenty-five years as a NCAA Division I head coach.  While coaching in Division I he coached over twenty-Five NCAA All-Americans, Several (non-USA) National Champions, Two Olympians and One NCAA Champion.  His teams won 15 conference championships.

Monty also has coached USAS teams including head coach at Westerville Aquatic Club, Razorback Aquatic Club (Fayetteville, AR) and The Lakeside Swim Team (Louisville, KY) where he coached a Pan-Am Gold Medalist and developed another Olympian.

He has coached numerous swimmers to the USA Olympic Trials and USA Swimming National Championship meets.

He also had the opportunity to coach with Olympic coaches as an assistant coach at Mission Viejo Nadadores and at The Ohio State University. Additional assistant coaching stints include The Anderson Barracudas and the Cincinnati Marlins and Texas Aquatics in Fort Worth, TX. His coaching background includes several years of coaching summer league and high school teams.

Monty has been voted as Conference Coach of the Year (NCAA) numerous times, Ohio USAS Coach of the year five times and YMCA Conference Coach of the Year one time.  He is an ASCA Level 5 certified coach

Assistant Coach: Corey Dauw – [email protected]

Coach Corey began swimming competitively while attending Milford High School. After graduating, he started coaching for the Miami Hills Swim Club and a few years later joined the Milford Area Swim Team staff in 2005. During his time with MAST he has coached swimmers at every level from Sectional and Zone qualifiers to those just starting their swimming journey. Corey has also coached for Milford High School as an assistant and head coach for a combined 10 years. During those years, Milford won the only three conference championships in the school's history. Every season Corey looks forward to helping swimmers develop to their fullest potential both in and out of the pool.

Assistant Coach: Emily Wethington - [email protected]

Emily Wethington is excited to return for another fun season as the Black 1 and Red 3 coach. Emily started her swimming career when she was 9 years old at Normandy Swim and Tennis Club. She swam competitively for 7 years at CAC and 2 years at Anderson Barracudas where she qualified for YMCA Nationals and USS Junior Nationals. She also swam 4 years at Loveland High School where she qualified for Ohio State Championships all 4 years. Emily graduated from Loveland High School in 1998. She then went on to swim in college at Northern Michigan and University of Cincinnati and majored in Health Promotions. Previously she was an assistant coach at Mason Manta Rays for 5 years and Anderson Barracudas for 7 years where she produced Top 16 swimmers, National swimmers both YMCA and USS, HS State champions and Zone champions. Along with coaching, Emily received her Masters in Early Childhood Education and has taught in Cincinnati Public Schools for the past eight years. She resides in Loveland with her 3 daughters Carlie, Taylor and Jordyn.
