Hello MAST Families,
THIS IS A SPECIAL UPDATE REGARDING SWIM MEETS.
PLEASE REVIEW THE MATERIAL AND TAKE ACTION BY SUNDAY NIGHT – MAY 15.
Unfortunately, this information is being posted later than planned, assembling and compiling the meet information took longer than anticipated.
There are a couple options we would like to make available to our members.
Our original plan was to attend the RAYS meet (june 17-19), but that meet was cancelled so we looked for a suitable alternative team meet. As an alternative we selected the Flag City meet in Findlay, but we had only had nine swimmer’s sign up. It is not in the best interests of our swimmers, nor MAST as a team, to attend an age-group travel meet with so few athletes.
We are now recommending a team entry for the David Webb meet at Silverlake. This meet is a prelim / final meet for 11 & older and Time Finals for 10 & Under swimmers. The meet does not have time standards.
We will submit the team entry Monday morning – May 16. This is when the meet host is first begins accepting entries.
As many may recall our entry for Clippers meets were rejected twice this winter season. If our entry is not accepted into the Clippers (David Webb) meet, we will consider alternatives such as the Jill Griesse meet at Denison University (great facility – not as far as Dressen where the meet was last year) and / or the Marlin Summer meet (The Marlins Summer meet required BB time standards).
Please indicate YES or NO (and add and notes you want the coaches to see) by 8:00 pm tonight (Sunday, May 15) so that we can send the meet entry to Clippers before 8:00 am Monday morning.
SOSL meets:
SOSL away meets are highly recommended for all Red 1, Red 2, Red 3 and Black 1 swimmers. Swimmers in Black 2 and Black 3 should talk with Monty to determine whether or not to enter away meets. We would like to have everyone enter the two home SOSL meets on June 14 & June 16.
