Update on California fines and how it has impacted Olympian Gary Hall, Jr. Gary's house was destroyed and virtually everything he owned, including his ten Olympic medals, was apparently destroyed. A diabetic, Gary escaped the fire with his insulin, his dog, and a couple pictures that had great personal significance to him. Though devastated, his attitude is as positive as one could hope for. Gary was born in Cincinnati and his connection to the area is through his father Gary Hall, Sr. (also a three time Olympian and multiple medal winner) who was Marlins coach back in the 1970's while Gary (Sr.) was in medical school. There is more information on SwimSwam for anyone who is interested and also an opportunity to help Gary through a GoFundMe set up by his sister Amy.
